Dr Daniel Thurley
Daniel is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health. With over 20 years of experience in general management and medical affairs at Roche and Merck Serono, he has led teams globally and nationally and launched market-leading products. He has designed and published international clinical trials and served as a Board Director and President for pharmaceutical associations in Hong Kong and New Zealand. He is a Consultant Physician in Pharmaceutical Medicine and has worked clinically in the UK and Australia in Medical Oncology. Having served for ten years as an examiner for the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine (UK), Daniel recently contributed to creating the Australian Medical Affairs Competency Framework, and associated courses through the University of Sydney to upskill Medical Affairs professionals.
James Jones
James has over 25 years of experience leading commercial success in Rare Diseases, Specialty Care, Oncology, Primary Care, and OTC therapy areas across ANZ, US, and global markets. He has worked with top pharmaceutical companies including Takeda, Nycomed, AstraZeneca, Schering Plough, and Sanofi, delivering results from pipeline to commercial success. James is an experienced board director and consultant, deeply involved in the Australian healthcare industry and advising global organisations and investors entering the ANZ market.
Kate Webb
Kate has over 25 years of experience in developing strategies for reimbursement, health economics, and market access in ANZ and global markets. She has worked with top pharmaceutical companies including Sanofi, Takeda, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca, and led projects in pricing, reimbursement, outcomes research and health technology assessments. Kate has contributed to several reviews of HTA and access to cancer medicines in Australia and served on Medicines Australia’s technical committees. Known for her global perspective and commitment to excellence, Kate is focussed on supporting organisations to find pragmatic approaches which provide patients with timely access to new medicines.
Kieran Schneemann
Kieran has over 30 years of experience in advancing the ANZ healthcare industry through roles in government and private sectors. He has built strong collaborations between government, healthcare associations, media, and pharmaceutical organisations. With a background as Chief of Staff, CEO of the Pharmacy Guild and Medicines Australia, and leading government affairs at AstraZeneca, Kieran understands the intricacies of accessing medicines in Australia. He is dedicated to improving healthcare quality and equity through his board and executive leadership positions.
Martin Hayes
Martin has over 20 years of experience in the Australian healthcare sector, working with and supporting pharmaceutical, medical device, health technology, MedTech and biotech organisations. He has worked with Roche, Eli Lilly, Siemens, and Johnson & Johnson, leading sales teams and executing strategies to grow market share and revenue. Martin specialises in commercialisation, new product planning, sales force effectiveness, and strategic key account management, developing simplified sales solutions for the complex Australian healthcare market.
Nicholette Conway
Nicholette has over 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and diagnostics, focusing on patient access to innovative treatments. She has worked with multinational companies including Eli Lilly, Amgen, MSD, and Bayer, and supported multiple therapeutics and MedTech device health startups and scale-ups on their commercialisation pathways. Her comprehensive commercialisation expertise is based on practical experience in clinical development, Health Technology Assessment for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, market access, and reimbursement with PBAC and MSAC. Nicholette has led international commercial development strategies for multinationals and start-ups across various therapeutic areas. Nicholette has been actively involved with patient support and advocacy groups for the last 20+ years, establishing alliances, and building internal capabilities and resources. She is currently Chair of Genetic Alliance Australia. She is committed to advancing new technologies and precision medicine in the Australian healthcare sector.
Vanessa Meikle
Vanessa Meikle is a seasoned expert in building successful workforces for healthcare and life sciences companies, with over 20 years of experience. She founded Hunton Executive in 2020 to assist organisations in hiring, developing, and retaining top leadership talent. With a background in psychology and specialised training in organisational and professional career coaching, Vanessa has crafted talent acquisition strategies for pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare and MedTech industries. She is also an active board member contributing to the global healthcare ecosystem.
